No girls allowed!
The Lalander Valley is about 15 miles and 1 ½ hours via a bumpy road from Kabul. It was in 2008 that Camilla Barry was first invited to lead teacher training in the valley. Girls were not allowed to attend the two elementary schools that served the valley.

Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
Because girls in Lalander Valley were given permission to be taught in homes, Camilla taught girls and teachers in home-based schools how to inquire and to investigate. Her goal was to teach them these skills to use in overcoming prejudice. |
